My wife and I have lived full time on our IP40 (1995 hull 38) for 4 years (this time). We are in the process of swallowing the hook. I would be happy to talk to you regarding the IP40 and what we have experienced.

While in Georgetown (Bahamas) this year I got curious about how they were handicapping the regatta boats. I found out the 40 has a PHRF of around 140 or less, while the 38 is more like 170. They 380 was about 170 and the 420 about 160. All said, the 40 is a great sailing, capable boat. It goes to weather well for a cruising boat.

We will be selling our very nicely outfitted boat and would like to avoid the "Brokers Dock" (who actually ends up broker? The seller or buyer?). Our boat is very nicely equipped including A/C, diesel gen (Westerbeke), wind gen, sat phone, and all the goodies.

We are very realistic on the value of our boat. We still love our Faith, but believe it is better to go back to land before we are...in a "gotta get off the boat" mind state.

Currently we are in Stuart, Fl. but will be leaving here in a week. We just haven't decided weather to got North or South. Ah, the life of a cruiser. I guess we'll flip a coin.

By the way, you may have seen our boat in Lattitudes and Attitudes Magazine (seems she's in there often). The Admiral has had 30+ pictures and two articles published there.

If you are interested send me a personal email here. I would be happy to share what I know.
