So far I have determined that the first line to freeze is the cockpit sprayer. I'll fix that just by disconnecting.
I'm sure others have been on these boats in freezing temps so my question is which lines are next to freeze. A sustained cold spell is about to hit and I may learn this for myself. I hope to heat all the right areas (cockpit locker) but maybe there is a area that is prone to freezing that I have not thought about.

If the boat is in the water then the lower water lines will be OK over longer periods. Then - exposed or unprotected lines would be suspect - shower head and hoses from the valves, etc.
If the boat is out of the water I would expect the lines lower in the boat to freeze first...

| Good point about lines below the water line, like those in the cockpit locker. Not likely to get all that cold there. Maybe around the hotwater tank, I can leave that on to heat that corner.

| I find it hard to sail in freezing weather. I winterize mine by emptying all the water and holding tanks and fill the lines with RV antifreeze and flush the system. You dont want to freeze a holding tank line. I guess you could heat your boat but you did not state what you were doing as to in water or dry storage.

| We are living on the boat with well below freezing temps and only 2Kw of elect heat. That gives us about a 20c (70f) increase over outside temp if it isn't too windy. The holding system is below water line and inside the main cabin so thats ok. The only spot that seems to be the problem is around the water tank. Not a problem if the water tank is on otherwise a 100w light in the area works to keep even the shower from freezing.
